Thanks for shattering my dream world jon...

ARgh...sick today. We went to my cousins farm on Monday for Memorial day and all but 3 in the family were sick (that's only three out of 10...not ok) So yeah...I seem to have caught it today. Feeling much better than I was this morning though so I'm hoping by tomorrow I'll be golden.

Camp has started!! Whoo! I'm lovin' it...seriously. I mean it has it's moments but w/ the ppl I get to work w/ and my boss (yeah, Kris...Don's the BEST!) I just couldn't ask for more. Yeah, Saturday was a good example of a bad day that was made better just by the ppl I work w/. I was guarding on Saturday and we had this lady there camping and she was a CRANK! She sends her little girl up the slide w/ floaties on, which is a no-no. They have to be able to swim on their own. So I call the little girl down and tell her that she can only use the slide if she's able to swim on her own. She runs crying to her mom. Her mom comes and takes her to the top of the slide (minus swimmies) and tells her to go down. The little girl is still crying and saying "no mommy, no" But the mom continues to coax her. Then the mom comes to the bottom of the slide and sticks her head up it and calls her down. I walk over and I'm like "Ma'am, you need to step away from the slide." She turns, "I was JUST coaxing her down." "Ma'am, if she needs coaxing maybe she shouldn't be going down the slide" She rolls her eyes and glares at me. Finally the little girl goes down the slide but she's still crying and like in this wierd doggy paddle gets herself to the side. So, the mom goes and sits down and the little girl proceeds to go up to go down the slide again. She makes me nervous so I decide that I want to have her do a swimming test first. I call the girl over to me and ask her to do a swim test. The girl once again goes crying to her mom. The mom comes over and she's like "Did you tell my daughter that she can't go down the slide?" And I said, "yes, just until she takes a swim test for me" Again, the mom rooooolls her eyes at me and she's like "We've been taking swimming lessons..blah blah blah." Argh...but we relunctantly get the swim test done. THEN, later, some other girls at the pool took food to the far side of pool and I went over and asked them to keep all food at the picnic tables. "The woman" was sitting right by them and heard me and as I was walking away I noticed a box of crackers by her chair. I then just watched her as she would look at me and slowly pull the box of crackers up and take a few and sneakly eat them, thinking that I wasn't noticing. (or if I did notice, what would I do about it) ARGH!! I felt like letting it go, seriously, because I really wasn't in for more eyeball rolling but I knew I couldn't let her get away w/ it. So I walked over and asked her to take the food to the tables. Yes, I got the eyeball roll, and that was it. No acknowledgement besides that. I'll tell ya... But then I could go work the counter in the store and be w/ my really awesome friends who would totally encourage me and then talked w/ Mr. B who also affirmed me. I have the best summer job ever!

Sunday I worked at RMC too but definitly a less eventful day. We had two groups in. One, a Catholic High School group and the other a college age group from Philly. They were all really good. The Catholic group was a little interesting because I had one man from the group try to kinda "evangalize" Elisha and I. :) He would come over and be like "You know, when God asked Mary to be the mother of Jesus she could have said no.......free will." And then he would just walk away...rather strange. *grin* Oh, and we were also having issues w/ the cash register. (455.00!!...it's all Becca's fault!) The groups were really fun, especially the older group, they would joke w/ us stuff. The one guy kept calling me "Ma'am" which I thought was really funny...or "lifeguard lady". ha! :) It was a good day.

Ha, well those are my stories for today. I have to run for now. More later...

Thursday, May 27, 2004

Wow...ok, inconsistant is my middle name. Hello!? It's been like 2 weeks...so sorry for those of you who actually take time to read this stuff... :) Let me see. Highlights of the last two weeks were, first, going to Tara and Katie's grad banquet and hangin' out w/ their awesome grad friends that I either already know or have gotten to know. (woot woot!) It was fun dressin' up, eating reeeeallly good food, watchin' the talent show, swing dancing in the parking lot and hanging out on the Stoner's front porch w/ Shane's "older bro"...aka Dad. :) (yeah Mr Stoner! Way to charm the ladies...) :)

And then of course the crowned event of the last two weeks was Tiffany coming home! YEAH BABY!! haha! all tanned and beautiful, fresh from the Philippines. :) Totally awesome to see her and hang out again...catch up and all that. I stole her from her fam on Monday and her, Tara and I did the normal Spill the Beans run and just talked and looked at pictures. Then we had this SUPER long camp meeting for the store and the pool. (I love camp! So ready to start the summer!)

Ack...can't finish right now. Duty calls...little munchkins need some watching. More later...

Thursday, May 13, 2004

Wow, over a week since I last wrote...my b! Anyway...hah...fun stories. Wednesday night I snuck out of HC w/ other ppl that will remain nameless (we'll call 'em Suspect J and Suspect K ;)) We went to another nameless persons house and went for a very loooooooong walk! Extreme fun though...we like toured all of Speedwell Lake (um...I mean, that's what we'll call it, yeah?) sat by the dam for a while, and then took this long path through the woods which was really cool but then it started to get dark. We finally ended up on the other side of Speedwell and had to cross the bridge and follow that road (I thought we were gonna die...we were walking along this road where ppl go who knows how fast and we were all in dark colors) until we got to a dirt road that we could cut across to get back to the house we started out. We dodged cars, belted out the Houseplant song and just talked...haha...good times. Then we crawled up the last hill to the house where cupcakes and iced tea awaited us. (Hallelujah!) I was SO hyper...oh my word. I couldn't stop laughing. (For the few who have never seen me like this...I hate to break your perfect view of me...sorry) :) THEN haha...in my delirious state, when we went to the car I completely tripped over a mulch pile and sprawled on the pavement. (definitly not one of my best moments...ha) So yes...that is my story for today. The End.

Let me see what I can tell you about the rest of my week. Friday I helped out at a bike rodeo at Lititz El. Ha, I do it every year and we always have fun. I hang out w/ the 5th and 6th graders and see tons of little kids on bikes try to get through this course...good times.

Then Saturday me mum and I went to the Homeschool Curriculum Fair. I wondered around and looked at tons of books (I love books!) and chatted w/ random ppl. (I made friends w/ the YWAM guys and these two ladies running the Operation Christmas Child table) *grin* Also saw some ppl...including Keila and everytime we saw eachother it was like "I KNOW I know you..." haha. Her sisters thought the same thing...it was funny. We'll figure it out someday Keila... ;) I met this cool girl named Sarah while I did my work shift on registration. Work was REALLY slooooow ("Oh no...we better watch the tables carefully just incase there's a mad rush for the name tag holders!") so we just hung out and joked and talked. (And there was absolutly NO money laundering involved at all....) Haha! Afterwards we went out to Red Lobster for dinner...gotta love seafood! Yea man! ;)

Sunday was Mother's Day! :) Yay! I had a lovely little cold so for the first half of the day I was kind of out of it. But then the Ludwigs and my grandma came over and we went out to dinner. (*note to self* never take boys to a resturaunt w/ a tv...they totally ZONE OUT!) Then we came back to our house just to hang out. It was going to be just a nice evening at home but no, the boys get this brilliant idea to sneak out of our house and go to the Ludwigs to watch the Last Samurai. We couldn't ask or anything...we had to SNEAK out. Ha. Me being the good child was like "no guys...I don't wanna.." ;) Then these HUGE 17 year old guys force me to write a note and tape it to the door and then gag and tie me and throw me in the car...I tell you...I was completley helpless to their evil. (Ha, but what we got to watch of the Last Samurai was good. Although the guys probably didnt enjoy it that much cause every couple minutes I was like "uh, guys, why are we here?") haha Love you guys. ;)

Ok, that's it for now. More later...

Wednesday, May 05, 2004

alrighty...a new new color scheme? What's the feedback?

Lovely day out now that the storm past, yeah? :) aw, I went and played w/ the Chris-T-ner kids today. I got to just sit and rock Talia for the first half hour which was bliss....I love babies! And then played street hockey w/ Caleb and Asher (well, as best I could w/ an on-and-off screaming Talia) and then I drove Sharon up to RMC so she could spend the night w/ Mary. (yeah sleepovers!) It was a good day and no mishaps...yet. (the day's not over yet...) Although when we were driving up to camp it was rather interesting...I drove up 501 towards Brickerville but their was an accident and the traffic was WAY backed up. So after sitting patiently for a little, (little...i'm working on patience) I turned around and tried to figure out another way to go. I didn't want to go all the way back down to Sheetz and over so I tried my first left hoping it would get me where I wanted to go...and you know what? It did! Directionally-challanged Erin made it to where she needed to be and in record time!! Aren't you proud? *bow* thank you, thank you! :) ha...yes so that's my little story for today. More later...

Wednesday, May 05, 2004

k guys, new color scheme...must let me know what you think. That's just not ok. Where here it goes for my SECOND post...yeah man. I'm on a roll!! HAHA! Wow, I got on and there were like comments and stuff posted on my last one and I was like "oh no, ppl actually came and read it?" Yeah, I know that's the point but anyway...haha. I'll try to make my stuff a little more interesting. (which should be interesting considering nothing very interesting has been happening)

Nate's turning 17 tomorrow...how weird is that? Hehe..funny story. We went out for lunch today and we were going to this place called Bombay Gardens which has a fab (or so I've heard) lunch buffet. It's connected to a Days Inn and when we got there we found the resturaunt was closed. We asked the lady at the hotel desk and she's like "oh yeah, they left yesterday and posted a sign and they never came back. They didn't tell the hotel anything." So w/ that option shut down we opted for Chinese but the whole way to Grand China my dad's like making up all these theories about them being a terrorist network and stuff. Ha...so my dad.

Wow, so yeah, that's my big story for the day. Today has been rather uneventful so far. Went and got my hairs highlighted this morning at the request of my Grandma. (I love Grandmas!) and then this afternoon bake cookies w/ my five year old sister, Em. (Five year olds and eggs don't mix...) And then tonight we're gonna go lazer-tagging for my brothers 17th B-day. (Actually it's a joint party w/ that crazy David Ludwig! Can you believe their both 17? Geez, I swear Nate's still like 12 or something...) So yeah...that's all I have to say on that. *grin* But I'll update y'all later. Keep it real...
